I Just Need a Great Resume…
Resumes - etc.I cringe when a new client tells me this. “Just help me write a great resume, that’s all I need.” Here’s what they’re usually missing:
- A specific, targeted job or position. Similiar positions have different names depending on the industry. Figure out your best fit BEFORE spending too much time on your resume.
- Research on how to best position themselves – a clear “value proposition.”
- A clear sense of how to highlight their skills and experience (It’s in the job description, baby!)
- A networking and follow-up plan. Yes, both should be part of how you write your resume.
Will I help you write a great resume? You betcha. But you’ll probably need to do some homework.
